April is also…

April showers bring May flowers, they say. We here at Westerville Pediatric Dental like flowers and Easter and all the April holidays, but we especially like that April is Autism Awareness Month. Visits to the dentist and oral care at home can be difficult for kids with autism. For a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a dental office is full of insecurity and can be perceived as an unpleasant place to visit. While trips to the dentist will never be without some apprehension, there are steps we’ve taken to prepare your child for a positive experience.

Westerville Pediatric Dental is proud to serve families with disabilities and special needs. We believe in a family-oriented approach to dental care. No one understands your child’s needs more than you, and we will work with you to determine the best approach. Our goal is to prioritize a good experience for all children at their dental visit.

We work with children with a variety of special needs, too. We’ve mentioned Autism Spectrum Disorders, but we’re also trained and work with Sensory Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, MRDD issues, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Respiratory diseases, and hearing and visual impairments. Feel free to call us ahead of time to help us accommodate your child. We want to hear how we can best serve your child.

Pediatricians, physicians, general dentists, dental specialists, and other allied medical professions refer to us for advanced and dependable dental care for children. We would be honored to care for your child! Schedule your spring cleaning appointment today!
