At Westerville Pediatric Dental we celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month, not just in February when it is recognized nationally, but every day. We understand the importance of our role in creating a positive, fun experience for children and Westerville Pediatric Dental understands that success depends on a strong partnership with parents. The foundations for good oral hygiene begin when we are children and reinforced throughout our lifetime. That means you!
Our pattern become their patterns. Remember your dailies: floss once, brush twice, and eat healthy three times daily! Experts tell us that no one has more influence on our children than mom and dad. Plus, children miss and average of six school days per year, with 2.1 of these days due to dental issues. The examples we set with our actions are often more powerful than those we teach with words. So let your children join you in your brushing and your flossing. Make it fun! Make it a thing!
It is also very important to make healthy choices when it comes to food. Be sure to explain to your little ones why what you eat is important, not only to keep your body healthy but to keep your teeth and mouth healthy as well. The foundation of good oral health, including brushing twice a day, flossing once a day and visiting your dentist at least twice a year are add-ons to eating healthy foods three times a day!
Enjoying a lifetime of healthy smiles it relatively easy to obtain and maintain. If you are looking for a dentist for your child, we would love you to join the Westerville Pediatric Dental family.
