Your First Visit

Before your first visit, we believe it is best to talk about all the positive things associated with visiting the dentist. Our primary goal is for your child to have a positive attitude when coming to the dentist to get his or her visit off on the right foot. Parents are welcome to stay with their children during the examination to make sure their first visit is one they will want to repeat.

What To Expect

At Westerville Pediatric Dental we begin by reviewing your child’s health history form. In order for your appointment go as smooth as possible, we make our forms available for download so you can complete the forms before stepping in the office. Then, you and your child will meet our dental professionals and be able to ask any questions you may have.

Next, the doctor will meet with your child and count their teeth. To get a better picture, we may take pictures of their teeth (X-Rays) that they can see as well! At this point, they will get a thorough dental cleaning and a fluoride treatment to protect their young teeth without any pain.

We’re here for you

You and your child should feel free to ask Dr. Joel  or any of our staff members any questions you may have. Working together will allow us to give your child a beautiful healthy smile that lasts a lifetime.

Diet and Oral Hygiene

Education is a valuable tool, which is why we spend time teaching your child how to brush properly during each routine exam. Following proper brushing and flossing techniques at home are vital to the success of your child’s oral health.

Your child will go through proper brushing and flossing techniques with our dental team so they can continue to take care of their smile once they are home.

Diet is a critical part of obtaining and maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile. We provide tips on nutrition to help you ensure your child’s diet is a healthy one.

Your child’s diet plays a vital role in the health of their teeth. We will go over tips to help you and your child make healthy choices when it comes to eating.
